Lecture Series: “Virgil in Penn’s Woods”

Penn State’s Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies announces the 2011/2012 lecture series "Virgil in Penn's Woods," which interested scholars and students are invited to attend. Six lectures will be delivered by distinguished Virgilians on the reading, aesthetics, and reception of Virgil, especially in Dante and Shakespeare. The lineup of speakers includes: Sarah Spence (Oct. 4, 2011); Philip Hardie (Nov. 3, 2011); Joseph Farrell (Dec. 8, 2011); James J. O’Hara (Mar. 16, 2012); Christine Perkell (Apr. 5, 2012); and Richard F. Thomas (Apr. 20, 2012).
