State Certification Requirements for Teachers of Latin

Initial License with an Endorsement in Latin

Degree Requirement:

B.A.

Subject Matter Requirements:

Latin major equivalent

Professional Training in Education Required:

Yes

Subject Test:

Praxis II, Latin

Additional Requirements for Advanced Certification:

1. Three (3) years of teaching experience in Vermont under a Level I License.

2. Three (3) relicensing credits, at least one (1) of which shall address the endorsement area (Latin).

3. Submission and approval of the Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP), developed through analysis of professional practice and classroom data. 4. Verification from an administrator who has supervised the educator's work that the educator is performing at a professional level.
