Subject Test:
No designated Latin subject test. Must take Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching test.
Additional Requirements for Advanced Certification:
- Four (4) years of approved teaching experience.
- Development and implementation of a professional development plan that is on file with the district.
- Successful completion of a two-year mentor assistance program.
- Participation in a beginning teacher assistance program.
- Thirty (30) hours of documented contact hours of appropriate professional development.
- Successful yearly performance-based evaluations.
*Note: Individuals who complete two of the three following items, are not required to report the professional development to the Department:
- Ten years of certified experience
- A master’s degree
- National certification from a recognized agency
